The First Year: Week 26

I'm Blogging baby's first year, the milestones, the good, the bad & the ugly! Our journey together from birth to one!

Photo of the week:

26 weeks today!

Age:
Today Jack is 26 weeks and 6 days!

Size:
This week I have put away all of his 3-6 month size clothes and started putting him in 6-9 months!

A lot of his 6-9 month stuff is Christmas related hehe.

Christmassy Baby Gro!

Appearance:
He's not changed much these past few weeks and is really developing his own look and personality. I think he's finally suiting his name too! Yay!

Milestones:

Huge milestone... Half birthday! 6 months old! 18.11.15!

6 months old already!

Here's how he has changed over the last 6 months. Each of these pictures was taken on the 18th of the month:

Also this week: first time on a swing!

First time on a swing!

I stood Jack up against the sofa and let go! He did well and I was very close on hand to catch him, but wow....

Clever boy!

Things we did this week:
Well I had been looking forward to Monday immensely as it meant I could call the doctors for an appointment. I had been ill for over 2 weeks at this point and I was a bit worried about Jack's chest too. Thankfully we both got appointments. I was correct I had sinusitis and got antibiotics and Jack was fine, just to keep an eye on him! After the doctors we went home and back into our PJ for the rest of the day and snuggled up. Don't know if he didn't like the food or if it was that he's not feeling well but today's butternut squash didn't go down at all!

Not loving food today!

Tuesday was another day in. We snuggled and napped all day. I'd started to feel better and was just looking forward to be able to get out of the house again! I realised too late in the day that we didn't try any food today. I don't think he was that bothered! Whoops!

Sicky Snuggles

On Wednesday Jack turned 6 months old! Half birthday! So scary how quickly time has gone. If only it had gone that quickly while I was pregnant! To celebrate this and the fact we were both feeling slightly better we went to jolly babies.

Back out in the world!

When we got home Jack had a taste of broccoli! This was the most successful meal yet! I know because it was in the nappy the next morning!!!

Trying some finger food

Yummy Broccoli

Thursday is usually swimming and Rhyme time. Of course we gave swimming a miss but we did go to rhyme time. Before rhyme time we met up with the bestie, who took an interest in playing with Jack's hair! Jack thought this was funny!

Bestie doing Jack's hair!

Today's taste of food was pear! Didn't go down at all!

Not loving the pear!

Friday started off with a trip to the park! It had suddenly turned cold so I got out the new pram suit he has and we went to the park. We met one of our friends there and decided to have a little play. First time in a swing happened! (see milestones!) and a little play was had. It was fun, think me and my friend enjoyed it more!

On the swing with Oliver

My Mum and Nan then came down for the day and we went to the shops with my friends! It was nice & we went for coffee. When we got home it was food time again (starting to dread it) and Jack had baby corn. He seemed to like to chew on it but didn't eat any...

Trying some baby corn...

Very interested in Daddy's food though!

What has Daddy got there?

Saturday we had a pj day apart from a very quick pop out to the retail park to pick up a few bits. Amazingly I managed to talk Oliver into getting a bigger Christmas tree! Woohoo!

Sunday we went to Oliver's mum's for lunch and that was nice. Jack still not keen on the food at all. He clamped his mouth closed for parsnip today - it went everywhere else though!

Not quite!

We also went on Skype and Jack met his great aunt and uncle on Oliver's side. That was really cute!

Meeting relatives in Canada

Best thing this week:
The best thing this week was feeling better towards the end of the week.

Mummy's thoughts & diary:
The only thing this week really is that I'm still not keen on this food business. He's not really eaten much at all. Think I may need to speak to the health visitors next time I go to get him weighed. Will be doing that the week after next so see how he goes. Otherwise all is well and we are almost healthy again!

So glad I am feeling better, was getting really miserable. Hope Jack's nose stops soon it really has been too long. Since he was 18 weeks when I put that he'd had his first cold. I can't even remember what it was like when he didn't have a snotty nose. Poor baba!

Ho hum! Until next week!
