The First Year: Week 16

II'm Blogging baby's first year, the milestones, the good, the bad & the ugly! Our journey together from birth to one!

Photo of the week:

16 Weeks Today!

Age:
Today Jack is 16 weeks and 6 days old!

Size:
We went to weigh in on Tuesday & Jack weighed in at 13lbs 12oz. He was absolutely perfectly dot on the line for the 25th centile absolutely perfect for his age! I was so happy! Have been told now no weigh in for a month (4 weeks) so the next weigh in will be when he is 20 weeks old on the 6th October.

He's still wearing some 0-3 clothes but as it's been colder he's also moved into some 3-6 months clothes as all his 0-3 are summery. Not bad seeing as now he is technically 4 months old :-)

Appearance:
He's definitely changing every day. A lot of people say that he looks like me now (woohoo) hehe. I see it myself he looks more like me around the eye area. But he's definitely starting to look like Jack. He's very much becoming his own person.

Milestones:
So, this week has been rather quiet for milestones. In fact I don't think we have hit any!

• Very close to rolling over but haven't quite got there yet. The arm hasn't come out from underneath him and this is as far as he has got. Yes that's a monkey on his bum. And yes they are the cutest trousers ever!
Trying to roll over!

Things we did this week:
Another busy busy week!

Monday we went to Nando's and met up with a friend I used to work with years ago. It was really nice and she took one of my fav photos ever of me and Jack. Ok it's blurry and bad quality but it's just so cute.
New fav pic! <3

Tuesday we went to baby groups all day and to clinic. This week we stayed for the afternoon group too and we played with his friend Sienna. Thankfully he again slept through the singing.

Sienna & Jack, always doing the same pose!

It was actually cold on Tuesday so Jack got to wear his pramsuit for the first time!

Pramsuit! Love it!

Wednesday we went round to my friends house for coffee. She is expecting her baby soon and is the last of my new mummy friends to birth. Sooo excited to find out what she has! She showed me her baby's room etc... So fun!

It was cold again on Wednesday so Jack got to wear his coat :-D

Rocket Coat!

Thursday was swimming day again! It was just as good as last week and it sent Jack to sleep instantly again! It was amazing! He seemed to enjoy it though he was almost asleep in the pool!
After swimming we went to the library for baby rhyme time. It was actually quite nice and he really did seem to enjoy it even though I had to wake him up when I got there and he got ratty towards the end and fell asleep on the way home. I managed to get some steps in and walk around the park too it was a lovely hot day!

At Baby Rhyme Time

Friday we met my friend for the day! Unbelievably it was super hot and he was back in his dungaree shorts! Can't even believe he was in a pramsuit on Tuesday!

Back in the dungarees

We went to a pub for lunch which was nice and did a lot of walking. We walked 8 miles in total!

Tummy Time!

Besties!

Mummies & Babies!

Saturday Daddy was out so my Mum came down for the day. She bought Jack and me a present... A jogging buggy! It's super lightweight and really fun so we took Jack out for a walk in that. He loved it and was laughing whilst looking back up at us!

Enjoying his new buggy!

Taking the new buggy to the park!

Today (Sunday) was a family day, nice lunch cooked by Daddy & a lovely walk in the park as a family. It's those moments that I enjoy more than anything. The three of us being together. I hope we can continue that tradition for many years to come. I just felt so happy in this moment. It's truly when you know that all of your dreams have come true and i know how lucky I am.

My Little Family <3

Best thing this week:
See above picture. It's really my favourite photo at the moment!

Mummy's thoughts & Diary:
This week has been a much better week. Sleep wise I think we have had the best week. Touch wood we are getting into a routine here but some nights Jack has slept until 3:30! He has also adapted back to breastfeeding at night which is a huge relief and makes life much easier!!

I have also taken to breastfeeding again in the daytime when I am not doing anything and in the evening when I am not busy. I don't know why I did this but it ha been nice. It does kind of screw up the system of knowing how much he is getting however I am sure he will let me know when he is hungry.

I was so pleased with Jack's weight this week, not gained too much so will have to keep an eye on him over the next 4 weeks. I can't believe he will be 20 weeks at the next weigh in!

Otherwise everything has been good this week. I have done a lot more walking this week and that has made me feel better.

Today I did my first run since having Jack and really was my first run in a year. I am very proud of myself for getting on the treadmill and I managed 5k in 38min 56sec. I never expected to run that far or in under 40mins! I mean really, I've done it slower in peak fitness!
