I'm Blogging baby's first year, the milestones, the good, the bad & the ugly! Our journey together from birth to one!

15 Weeks Today!

Age:
At time of blogging, 15 weeks, 6 days old!

Size:
I didn't get Jack weighed this week, he is due for weigh in next week!
Measured on 1st September - 64cm!

Appearance:
Have noticed people saying "he looks like a proper little boy" :-)
Have also been told that people are seeing more of me in him ;-)
To me, he hasn't changed much this week, just smiles more with less effort from us!

Happy Boy

Milestones:
Jack's firsts for the week:

• First time rolling from front to back. Blink and I missed it! Put him on him front at baby group, took a sip of my drink & he was on his back! Think it was a fluke as I tried several times putting him on his front and he made no effort to roll onto his back!

• First time in a ball pit. It was a very small, shallow one and didn't enjoy it at first! However, he got used to it then enjoyed kicking around.

First time in ball pit

• First time swimming!!! This was a biggie as I really don't like the swimming experience! However I went with a couple of friends to Aqua Babies & actually really enjoyed it. It was an exercise class for Mum. Had to dunk baby under which was scary but he enjoyed some of the class!!

We weren't allowed to take photos but as it was a first my friend snuck one for me. It's fuzzy but hey, it's his first swim.

First Swim

• Towards the end of the week he has shown more interest in rolling. He hasn't managed the whole way but this is the furthest he has got!

Trying to roll over!

• This is more of a first for me but my first time in a lift alone. I am actually petrified of lifts and now I've got the buggy we had to do it. Brave Mummy!

Mummy was SO brave!

Things we did this week:
This week was a busy one! We started off the week with a bank holiday Monday. That was really nice as Daddy was home with us and we basically stayed in all day and did as little as possible!

We went to baby group and stayed for both sessions. Exhausting but fun, as the afternoon session was dead quiet so it was bearable! (Have not enjoyed this session previously as Jack was so young and it was SO loud!)

The next day Jack had a visit from my 2 cousins and I had to hope that they didn't get ideas as he was being very very cute!

Spoilt by the cousins!

Thursday was our first swim. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and I was really proud of myself for not backing out. Getting changed before and after was not as bad as I had anticipated and I actually enjoyed the class! It was like an exercise class for mum and we used the baby as a weight. It was quite hard work! I thought I was really going to hurt the next day but I didn't. Will definitely be going again. I was a bit unsure about dunking Jack so I think I need to do that again next week. He cried a bit and it almost upset me but it's just something they need to get used to. The rest of the class was doing lengths with baby & he laughed at that it was cute. Swimming totally and utterly exhausted him... He was asleep before we got to the door of the leisure centre.

Before our 1st Swim

Later that day we went to see his bestie and we had a go in his bumbo! He really enjoyed it I think! And he just looked so cute!

Having fun in the bumbo

These Two!

Then we went to the library for baby rhyme time so that we could do some singing. It wasn't on in the end so we just joined the library and went home!

Friday was a day out! We met some friends in a shopping centre for coffee then we went to my work to visit everyone there. This visit was a bit more successful and we saw some of my faves!

The weekend was visiting Nana and Nanny. Oliver was in Birmingham on Saturday so we went to my Mum for the day & Sunday was at his Mum's where we had dinner.

How much stuff do I need to take for 1 day?!

Best thing this week:
Never thought I'd say this but the best thing this week was swimming!

Mummy's thoughts & diary:
This week has been a very busy but fun one. No major things to report. We have had a couple of bad nights where Jack has refused to breast feed and I've had to scramble out of bed to keep him quiet and get a bottle ready. It's been no fun and I do hope he will breastfeed again overnight (or sleep through!) haha!

His sleeping has been much better and he settles and does the first part of the night in the basket now, just needs to start sleeping a bit longer :-)

I keep worrying about going back to work and it's really getting me down. I know I need to enjoy every moment off work and have fun with Jack. I am really going to try and stop fretting next week.

Precious Moments :')
