Read all about it!

Hello!

It has been while since my last blog. So where was I? Oh yes, I can see and I had gained 2.8lbs! Well you will all be pleased to know that the week after I lost 5lbs so that was my gain and more gone. I knew it was a fakie gain, but I still don’t know why that fakie gain arrived. The 2 weeks of exercise ban then began and at weigh in on Saturday I gained 0.4lb so I wasn’t too heartbroken, but of course would have preferred a stay the same. Currently I am still on an exercise ban (which will be lifted on Friday!) Hurrah – however I am working all day Fri & Sat so won’t be exercising until Sunday anyway! So I hope for another stay the same this week and back to losing I go. 6lbs to go until I get to 9st 12 and then I’d quite like to go on maintenance!!!

So I have now signed up and have officially entered The Race For Life, Starlight Walk & London 10K. Just like everyone else I thought that’s it and now I have to start preparing for the event! They are in June/July so I thought nothing more of it and then a couple of days ago whilst casually checking my e-mail, I had one from the Peace Hospice. (Rewind to the “My Medal Collection” blog and you’ll see why my heart is so close to them). I read the e-mail and was full of dread as this is what it said:

“I work at the Hospice handling Public Relations and wondered whether you might be able to spare some time to have a chat about your motivations for signing up? We are hoping to feature walkers in our Hospice communications and where possible the Watford Observer and other local publications too. Hopefully sharing your and other walker’s stories will encourage more and more people to sign up and support the Hospice’s flagship fundraising event”

How could I say no to this?? I didn’t. Usually in my old life – I would have ignored/said no/ran away straight away. But this new me? Thought it would be ok. I e-mailed back and said I’d be happy to have a chat and would they like to talk via phone or e-mail?

The horror…. She wants to meet up! She wants to take a picture of me… She wants to put me in the paper & other publications…. I feel sick!

But I’ve already agreed. So I have to go through with it! She is meeting me on Friday at work and is bringing me a training t-shirt to be photographed in. (So hoping I can keep the t-shirt haha!). Well I hope I can make my Grandad proud by doing this and I hope nobody reads it!

Apart from all of you of course!!! ;- )
