New Challenge: Bridge to 10k!

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I was thinking what can I do now... I have done the 30 day shred, I have done the banish fat, boost metabolism, I have done no more trouble zones and I am working through 6 week 6 pack. All of which are creations by the wonderful Jillian Michaels. I have done the couch to 5k challenge and have kept up running regularly.

Although I can now run for 50mins without stopping, I decided to take on more of a structured challenge. So I downloaded the follow on from the Couch to 5k app, which is called the Bridge to 10k and is a similar programme that helps you continue to be able to run for 60mins and technically 10k. This will mean that I will be running for longer periods 3 x a week. Whereas I know I can run for 50mins I don't usually run for this long 3 x a week, more like 20-25min 3 x a week.

My Uncle and I decided yesterday to see how many 10k races we can sign up for next year and collect medals as we go along (as well as raising money for charity of course!) I will also do a couple of 5k's too! So yes, next year will be the year of the medal & running - and of course this will help me keep off the weight and stay focused! I can never let myself lose focus... I can never let myself look like the picture in the post below.

As it stands I have just had my week 38 weigh in! I lost 0.4lbs. I was expecting and hoping for more if I am honest, but there is always next week. I am still 0.2lb away from making my 5stone and getting that all important silver 7! That would also mean 70lbs gone! Almost time for another star! :-)

So, I started my Bridge to 10k yesterday, it starts with a 5 min warm up walk, 10 min run, 1 min walk - repeat x 4 and then 5 min cool down. All that after a 30min session with Jillian - ouchies.

Actually the 6 week 6 pack - level 2 - realllllllllyyyyyyy hurts!!!!!!!!!
Today will be week 4 day 3. My next line up in the Jillian series is Ripped in 30 - it is like a new version of the 30 day shred and it is supposed to be tough!!!!!!! so I look forward to that! The picture on my blog today is of me post workout yesterday... with real runner's sweat! Gross but it makes me feel proud.

I just need to step it up a notch and pick up some speed when running! One step at a time though eh!

Until next time....

xxxx
