So basically my appointment was at 9:30. I am a prompt person and although I like to be early I was definitely too early for this one. We arrived at about 9:10, booked in on the screen and took a seat.
The waiting room was quite busy as it was a Wednesday morning, so we sat near the door. Nausea has been plaguing me in the mornings recently and never has it been so bad as when a boy came and sat near us. He stank of weed or something and it was awful. I thought I was going to be sick there and then!
The midwife then came out and paraded around the waiting room with Bounty Packs. They are the packs for Mums-to-Be. She gave one to another lady that had been waiting and then she called my name. I stood up in the hope she would call me in, but no, she gave me a pack too and asked me to fill in a form for her. To my horror we were wearing the same uniform (I'd gone in before work!). I sat there filling in my form and watched the time tick by. 10:00am came and I was feeling super sick. We moved away from stinky boy.

My anger started boiling... was going to have to make this time up at work and just sitting here doing nothing was annoying me. I was also annoyed at the big bag she had given me. It was obvious why I was there to everyone in the waiting room. Just glad I am very new to the area and nobody knows me!!
Eventually got called in at around 10:20 (40mins after appointment time) and she really didn't do much. In fact she did nothing. Except weigh me, check my height and calculate my BMI - 29. Phew. I do think I was too early for this appointment at 6 weeks and 4 days, however I did tell the Doctor and the Receptionist how far along I was, so I don't think I can be blamed for this!
She said she could not do my bloods, she could not book my scan and she could not do these things because I did not have a hospital number. What a waste of time! Anyway, she took all of my details, and said that she would like to come to our house to do a booking appointment. So we booked that appointment for October 27th 2014. We then left the surgery and raced to work.
My boss already knew where I had been but there was so much speculation at where I had been. Thankfully she did not tell anyone, but the gossip has begun.
