Life is a marathon!

So yesterday I went to the London Marathon.

I have been quite a few times before, but yesterday was different. The times that I have been before I was a big girl. I haven't forgotten what being a big girl was like, but of course I am now a different girl. Although this does not stop me feeling like a big girl still!

When I was a bigger girl, I remember having the same feelings when watching the runners. I remember feeling all of the emotion and the passion that they had. I remember thinking how amazing they all were and how each person there must be hurting so bad.

As I was standing there yesterday watching these fantastic runners, I just wanted to cry. They are all so inspirational and wonderful and doing this for such good causes. Tears do come to the eye when you see people that are actually disabled/blind/impaired running for their own charity. Each and every person there running for their own personal reasons, most likely each with a sad and suffering story to accompany their success.

I remembered back to when I was watching them before, back a few years ago. I remember thinking I'd never be able to even think about doing anything like that. I had no motivation, no story and no hope! Oh, how things change!!!!!!

Since losing my Grandad to Pancreatic Cancer back in Dec 2009 & eating myself through 2010 - I now had my story.

After losing all my weight (now just over 7 stone) in 2011 - I now had my motivation.

So now, April 2012 - I have hope. Hope that next year I can run in the London Marathon.

I know it is very difficult to get a place in the London Marathon but I am so going to give it every shot I can! I think this is a challenge that I need to face! It would be the icing on the cake - believe me - I need that! (I miss cake!).

In the mean time, I shall continue fundraising and completing smaller challenges! here is what I have coming up:

In 2 weeks today - I am running in the Watford 10k - getting nervous about this (there are a couple of big hills!)

Race for Life (55 days!)
Starlight Walk (61 days!)
London 10k Run (76 days!) - this one I am uber excited about!
Shine 2012 - (Marathon Walk in London!) 159 days! :-)

That ought to keep me going right!?
