Treatment Day

It has been a while since my last blog. That is because I have been super duper uber busy cramming all of my work into a short amount of days to give me time off for my treatment day today and time off to recover.

At last weeks weigh in, I will finally admit this to all of you... I gained 2.8lbs. I don't know why I confess to this as an admission, because I really didn't deserve it, I didn't have any treats, excessive food or lack of exercise. I actually changed nothing, I carried on as usual. In fact when I saw that gain - I wished I had eaten something yummy to deserve it. Because that is the biggest gain I've ever had. Well not ever of course! But ever since I started this journey on 01.01.11.

I left it behind me, after much anger and resentment. In fact it still makes me angry! However I am hoping that by weigh in on Saturday it will be gone. I have not managed to squeeze much exercise into my week this week, only on Sunday I beat my personal best pounding it out on the treadmill! Today is my only other exercise day, and that is the lowest amount of days I have exercised... ever... (since this started!) However I did work on Fri, Sat, Mon, Tue, Wed all 13 hour days and I do not sit down at work - so this could be classed as exercise... one day I will wear my heart rate monitor to monitor how many calories I burn off at work!

Anyway... this post was titled "Treatment Day" so lets talk about that.
Today I am going for my laser eye surgery. I cannot wait! I really and truly cannot wait! Although the day has now finally arrived I am beginning to feel the nerves creeping in!

I have been wearing my glasses for 3 weeks and 2 days and not one contact lens has gone in my eye for the entire time. I never thought I'd be able to do that! I have hated every single minute of glasses wearing and I won't lie about that. I don't have anything against glasses wearers so please don't take offence, but I hate the way glasses look on me, make me feel and the vision they give. Also can't bear when there are smudges on them etc...

So in 5 hours I have my appointment to go and get my vision corrected! I won't be able to go on the computer tonight I don't think - but as soon as I can I will let you all know what it was like! I know I am going to be light-sensitive for a while, so have to go armed with sunglasses. I will look funny leaving the clinic in sunglasses... as by the time I will get out... It will be dark!!! The next two weeks are going to be... interesting!

- No exercise (due to sweat in your eyes)
- No hairwashing (unless VERY careful) as no water can go in eyes!
- Showering from neck down only (awkward!)
- No eyebrow plucking!
- Eyedrops every 2-4 hours for a few days, then a few times daily!
- Sleeping with eye shields on - for 2 whole weeks!

The list goes on... but will all be worth it in the end.
I have to go for a check up at 11am tomorrow too, hopefully will get signed off for driving!

Fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly and recovery is fast!

Photo = FIRST and LAST photo of me in my glasses!!
