Hello all!
Well I am back, I made it and I survived my Hungarian Adventure! So... I went to Hungary last Monday with my boyfriend, his mum and his little sister (aged 14). To give you an idea of why I went to Hungary - my boyfriend's Mum was born and raised there and lived there until she came to England 30 something years ago. So she wanted to take us there to visit her Father and show us the sights etc...
I was very scared about going on this trip as I wanted to stay on track so badly. I have still not cheated and did not want to let lured into breaking my dailies/weeklies/losing control. I loaded up my suitcase with cereal, cereal bars and sweet treats and off I went. When we arrived on Monday the first thing we did (after dumping bags at the apartment - which was very nice!) was to go and visit my boyfriend's Grandad in the hospital that he lives in. This eant starting off the trip with a 40min walk... FAB! Oh I should also mention at this point that each and every day we were there it was 36 degrees. It was hot! :-) Anyway, after that visit (which was too awful to go into) let's just say Hungary is about 100 years behind us in healthcare! We went to walk around the town for a bit and decided to go out for dinner. We went to a lovely little place and sat outside in a quiet courtyard. Everyone had a Hungarian dish and I had lettuce, tomato, cucumber and carrot - with light mayo that I had purchased from the shop on the way to the restaurant :-) Score I had made it through day 1 and had a kit kat when we got in! That was after watching the three of them eat massive cakes!!!
The next day we went to a castle which meant climbing up some steps - everyone was huffing and puffing but not me :-) this is the link about castle hill (if you're interested)http://wikitravel.org/en/Budapest/Castle_Hill#b We basically spent the day exploring around there and then went for dinner. Oh yes, you have guessed it guys... I found PIZZA EXPRESS!!! ok so it was called PIZZA MARZANO but it was exactly the same :-) I had a margherita leggera but I didn't even eat it all!
On the Wednesday we went to the Zoo, which was a nice morning out. We then went for lunch (salad & mayo) and I was then preparing for my BIG moment, which was the dreaded swimming costume moment. We went to a spa which can be seen & explained herehttp://www.szechenyibath.com/ It is basically a pool that is 38-40 degrees, hotter than getting in a bath! Once I had swimsuited up we got in and it was good! I sunbathed the rest of the day which was nice. We then went out for dinner and I was glad that the whole swimsuit day was over! The dinner was a buffet restaurant so I filled up on veggies and grilled chicken breast which was nice followed by watermelon.
Thursday was a big day for me. I had a "moment" so I will write about Thursday in my part 2 post!
Friday was a very quick day as all we did was say goodbye to my boyfriend's Grandad and then whizzed to the airport to get home! I had survived 4 lunches, 4 dinners and 4 breakfasts still sticking to my points. We walked a lot and I came home with 32 activity points just from walking.
On Saturday the same group of us went to London to do more tourist things because we had some vouchers so that was nice, went to the Tower of London, walked around London a bit but kept getting rained on. It was really annoying after having 5 days of 36 degrees!
Anyway.... Saturday was also my Weigh in!! I lost 1.2lbs and got my 9th Silver 7!
I must admit I feel so flabby after not working out with Jillian for a week, but was right back to it on Sunday!
Stay tuned for my part 2 post...
