If Wishes Were Horses...

Hello All!


Well lately I have been thinking about my life, the future, the past and the present. 

I have been thinking about all the things in the past that my weight has held me back from, I have been thinking of what I want to be like in the future and what I am going to do right now!

Well, being fat meant that I no longer could ride horses. Well I am sure there are horses out there that could have easily carried my weight, but my confidence, my head and my heart could not bring myself to...

a) go to a new stables and find somewhere to ride.
b) put a poor horse through the strain of carrying me
or 
c) look good on a horse... imagine the sack of spuds I used to be sitting on a horse!

OH actually... you don't have to imagine. I sat on a show horse for a total of 10 Seconds to get a picture taken... You can see in this pic I can HARDLY fit in the saddle.(Look at my hips!) It was utterly humiliating. This photo was taken in Menorca and this is the most expensive horse I will ever sit on!!! Beautiful isn't it. Shame about the rider.

Anyway, after giving up my loan horse a few years back I never got back in the saddle. About 2 years ago, a friend from my childhood (which I spent at the stables) found me on good ole FaceBook and said I could ride her horse. I was thrilled at her offer until I found out her horse was 14.2hh (not very big!) I asked her what his max weight limit was and she told me 12 stone. I stared at my fat 17stone self and kindly declined her offer - to put on hold until I'd lost weight. Except this time I meant it. 

On Sunday, I had the riding urge again. I thought I'd drop my friend a message and say I was ready to ride again! Well it was a long story getting to this point... But... today... I am going riding!!!! Bet ya didn't see that coming haha.

I am actually going to meet a friend of this friend to ride her pony and see if I can do a part loan of her pony... yes PONY (take note Gill!!) Haha! 

It's my favourite breed of horse too! and at 14 hh my most favourite size! Let's hope I don't look too huge & legs hope I can get a pic or two to show you all!!!
